Summary

As one of the most recognisable faces in showbiz today, Kerry Katona has seen more than her fair share of ups and downs played out in public. Once labelled ‘the nation's sweetheart,' the Atomic Kitten singer rose from foster care to international stardom but her fall from grace in a haze of drink and drugs was just as dramatic, as she saw her picture-perfect marriage crumble and her career slump.

Yet despite all that, it is in the last decade that Kerry has faced up to her biggest personal challenges. Her marriage to third husband George Kay was to test her to the absolute limit. Stuck in an abusive relationship she felt powerless to leave, the cycle of despair was only ended when George died aged just 39 in 2019, found in a hotel room eating a sock filled with cocaine.

This is a harrowing, brutally honest life story yet, at its heart, ultimately an uplifting tale of hope, strength and survival. With the support of her now-fiancé Ryan and her children, Kerry has had to show sheer grit and determination to get her life and career back on track despite the darkest of circumstances. After years of desperately trying to find her way, she has finally started to feel–in the words of her most famous song–Whole Again.

Brutally honest

Kerry’s life has been something most of us will thankfully never truly experience but she tells her story in such a beautifully honest way in each of her books. This one particularly is harrowing but her positive outlook is admirable.

This book hits home. Very powerful story.

Well hello from Aberdeenshire. I have been a fan& huge supporter of yours since you’re cute. Little face popped onto our magazines and into our ears. I have always felt major similarities with you & i childhood. Watching you grow up. By chance making similar mistakes. I too was diagnosed with bipolar at the same time. I too have a mama that’s challenging. I am a ferocious mama bear. I too am an addict clean but an addict. The Emotion while telling your stories always hit me differently. That this morning episode caused me to never watch this morning again. I was outraged beyond
Measure. I was on a mood stabiliser call risperidon at the time. I too slurred my words on it. Of course the village I lived in thought I was “back on the drugs”. My twat of a husband forced me to take our son to school every morning. So the school gate mammy mafias small minded mouths started spreading misinformation. Yours happened on national TV. I was so outraged I wrote a very eloquent strongly worded letter to ITV about your treatment on that show. Your life is eerily similar to mine just minus the celebrity. I too wanted and could have been “famous” had if I’d had support. However now at 44 I am acutely grateful that didn’t happen for me. This book out of all your books is the one that makes me feel it in such a deep adoration and affection we’re almost In the same place at the same time on a self love adventure. With a decent guy we don’t actually need, we want them. Life’s a funny thing. I feel so very very proud of you Kerry and I am very proud of myself which feels odd to say. But I’m Getting used to it. My struggles weren’t in the public eye, but my battles were very similar to yours and ultimately the greatest love story is with yourself. I’ve recently learned & started manifesting, practicing gratitude & started studying Law of attraction. Asking the universe being a totally open minded believer I always thought I was. Just this time I’ve added self love to the mix. It’s very new. But it’s working. I hear you chick. You just keep being you. You beautiful mama bear. Please keep writing these books about your life so the small minded stop believing the crap that press make up. Your babies are blessed to have you as a mother and teacher in life. We are blessed to have you as a celebrity. Shine bright beautiful girl. xx

Love You

I absolutely love you and the book was good but sometimes the George part grated on me. I understand you felt you needed to tell your story but tell it and move on rather than mentioning him in every chapter.

brutally honest

Kerry is a friend you'd have in your circle, brutally honest, funny, straight talking and forever loyal. I've read all the stories in the tabloids and never really thought much about it, but listening to her stories of survival and struggles, I've realised that this woman deserves all the happiness the world can offer, you go get your forever after Kerry!

A truly bittersweet biography

I had mixed ideas of Kerry due to the media and their horrific attitude towards her. I am glad I decided to listen to her words.
Having been through domestic violence myself in past and recent years I can absolutely identify with her thoughts and why she stuck with it for as long as she did.
I am still fighting my corner every day and no-one will ever truly understand the reasoning for why or what until they walk a mile in our shoes.
You have great empathy and sympathy for everyone else....remember to keep some for yourself too. I am glad you have finally met a man that will look after you the way any person should be looked after.
Unfortunately, I won't trust anyone ever again. I am okay with that though. I look after me now.
