About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The hunt is on and the police are running out of time.

Two young women are missing, their only connection being that they attended the same party, hosted by a notorious businessman. When one of the women is found murdered, the police discover an unusual signature left by the killer, giving them reason to suspect he will strike again.

They're facing a killer unlike any other.

And catching him calls for a detective like no other. But the legendary Harry Hole is gone. Struck off the force, down and out in Los Angeles, it seems that nothing can entice him back to Oslo. Until the woman who saved Harry's life is put in grave danger, and he is forced to join the hunt for the murderer.

To catch him will push harry to the limit.

He'll need to bring together a misfit team of former operatives to do what he can't do alone: stop an unstoppable killer. But as the evidence mounts, it becomes clear that there is more to this case than meets the eye.

For Harry, this just got personal.

Another good HH

It was captivating for sure and I had a hard time putting it down. However, the series is getting quite predictable and it was his first book where I had figured out the murderer long before the end. It’s probably the last one I’m reading in the series.

Grotesquely Unputdownable

Brilliant story - gripping and grotesque - Sean Barrett utterly mesmerising as per usual - loved it. Bravo

Not for the squeamish

OMG!! So compelling but shocking. I can’t even start to tell you about this serial killer as I will feel sick. Parasites!! You need to be prepared for a horror story. Jo Nesbo is brilliant. So is Harry Hole. And the voiceover is masterful. I dare you to listen!! And not go urgh out loud! Denise

Great

Really good story and the characters continued to develop. Twists and turns along the way kept it interesting and the pace just right.

How can Norway have so many psycho murderers?

I listened to Killing Moon out of sequence and not to give spoiler alerts, the bits that led Harry to where he is in this book were very surprising. Enough of that.
I felt the story was good if not for that, one had a feeling that Harry was feeling his age. But just as good a detective as ever. The other reason was the voice Sean Barret used for Harry was of an older, if not unwell man.
I now need to check out the preceding books to see how Harry fared with the incidents.

Not his best

But still very good. Thrilling bloodthirsty and graphic as always
Really depraved villain with a reason for revenge and the ending is the opening for the next book
Very good

Suspense

The narrator was often not easy to understand what is he reading and therefore it was difficult to follow.

Harry Hola is back

Jo Nesbo back to his best and when Harry Hola returns need I say no more. A bit confusing near the end had to go back a couple of chapters. Great story with a subject I have never heard and of course a lovely twist at the end. Get it in your Library soonest
