About this listen
Amethyst Keane lives a lonely existence. Growing up, her mother moved them around so many times she gave up on having a normal life and friends. She threw herself into her school work and started publishing a magazine at the age of 17.
Almost three years later, she's completely independent and as lonesome as ever. On an assignment for her magazine, she visits a small coastal town. While there, she meets a boy, and for the first time, she feels as if she might not have to live a solitary life.
As she explores the town's legendary ghost, she also uncovers secrets and lies regarding her family, and maybe, she has more in common with the spirit haunting Ghost Peak Island than she would have ever believed.

Secret past
A short sweet, intriguing story! It's a fairly short and quick read that is fast paced with mystery and good twists. It's a wonderful ghostly tale that definitely keeps you glued until the delightful epilogue. Amethyst and Cooper are drawn together but the mystery brings them further together. It's an intriguing story about a woman who discovers more about her family than she ever imagined. Lots of secrets that come to light.

great, with a sad love story
It initially seems like a love triangle between Amethyst , Cooper and Ben. She discovered more as she does her research. It seems it was a sort of reincarnation but it wasn't. I conjure how the story will go and it was thwarted almost everytime.
This is a great modern story of love, family , betrayal and heartache. I felt so sorry for Marianne and felt as engrossed with the research as Amethyst. This is a tear-jerker if one can feel what happened in the past.
Highly recommend reading such a story.
