Summary
Temp jobs can be murder! When Scarlett Chase receives an offer to work a temp job in order to pay her way on a vacation, she jumps at the opportunity. She’ll get to spend an entire week enjoying sunshine and the blue water of a beautiful lake on a luxurious houseboat with some of her closest friends. What could be better?
Even though the boat is anchored in a remote location, items start to go missing, and it appears a thief is on board. When Scarlett finds a stranger’s body on a nearby shore, she doesn’t suspect it’s related to the thefts. It doesn’t take long for her to figure out it was murder. When she discovers that nearly everyone on board the houseboat has a motive, she can’t help but investigate.
Is there a murderer and a thief amongst Scarlett’s vacationing friends? Can she stop the killer before anyone else is attacked? Murder—unlike her job—isn’t temporary.
Larceny on the Lake is the fourth book in the fun and clever Temp Jobs Cozy Mystery Series.

Utterly captivating.
An utterly captivating book with an ingenious plot, puzzling mysteries, lots and lots of twists and turns and a huge bombshell at the end.
Amber Battaglia’s narration is outstanding, as usual.

It's a crime not to enjoy
I loved this book and once I started I couldn't stop. It is slightly different to the previous books in this great series, in the fact that Scarlett wasn't actually working but who let's fun (or work) get in the way of solving several mysteries. There is so much going on and I really enjoyed the fact that it was never quite what you thought, making it an entertaining listen. The plot having everybody stuck together on the boat meant I had no clue who the killer was, as I didn't really want any of them to be involved, let's just say there was a few surprises. I really like the characters and I would say they are the reason I keep returning to the series but to be honest I just like the story this talented author weaves . I can't wait for the next book.
When her new friends decided to go on holiday, a holiday she can't really afford, Scarlett offers to pay her way by taking care of all the food prep and cooking. Staying on a houseboat means the only worry should be not getting sun burnt and which computer game to play, instead things keep going missing and a stranger arrives in the middle of the night asking for help. Out of range of a cell tower the friends agree to help but Scarlett becomes suspicious of there new friend when even more things to missing. Then they discover a dead body and with nobody else around Scarlett is worried one of her friends is involved when it turns out they all knew him. Can she solve mysteries and more importantly find a killer before anybody else gets hurt?
I like the narrator. She does a good job of bringing the characters to life and gives by them there own voice.
