About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli, read by star of Stranger Things Shannon Purser.

When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat - but real life isn't always so rhythmic. An anomaly in her friend group, she's the only child of a young, single mum, and her life is decidedly less privileged. And even though her mom knows she's bisexual, she hasn't mustered the courage to tell her friends - not even her openly gay BFF, Simon.

So Leah really doesn't know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It's hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting-especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.

Sooooooooooo good!!

If you liked Love Simon (Simon Vs The Homosapien's Agenda) then you'll love this. It follows Leah through the last few months of senior year, and there's still lots of Simon and Bram. I was gutted when I finished it :(

I am basically Leah

Cheesy as fuck but I am practically Leah and I wish I had this book in secondary school or sixth form or even Uni, I might have taken those chances to confess to those girls I liked, I might have been more open earlier than I was. Beautiful book, beautiful story. Love the nerdyness of Leah (as a fellow anime/Harry Potter nerd) I loved her character in Simon vs and am glad Albertalli expanded on her character in this (Simon is so dense that it was probably needed ahaha)

Love this book!

Brilliant.

I absolutely loved this book, and devoured it in a day. I love Leah’s whole attitude and edgy-ness towards everything and pretty much to everyone! This book is super cute and also has its laugh out loud moments.

Good book, bad followup.

I think I would have. Liked the book a whole lot more if I wasn't such a fan of Simon VS The homosapien agenda as it sheds a strange light on the characters that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Really great! Nice follow up to Simon. Works being from Leah’s perspective. A very quick listen! Hope there’s another instalment coming.
