Great Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt!
I enjoyed this book, it is a cross between romance and women’s fiction, set in Madison, a small town in Georgia. This is my first book written by Crystal Jackson, she is a gifted author and she packed a lot of story into this novel, she included storylines for other characters as well as the two lead characters, Libby Reynolds and Seth Carver. The secondary characters played roles in everyones lives in the small town but sometimes it felt like she tried to fit in too many side stories. I would have rather stuck with the two leads, see their story wind up into something more. I understand the next book in the series will be two other leads and I am sure these two character’s story will continue as well. Libby separated from her husband was starting over again and she chose Madison because she loved it when she visited. Seth Carver, a resident and store owner with family and friends in town. I loved how these two connected, she is hesitant to date again but Seth was a patient and understanding man, well until he was not. Lack of communication and assumptions is the ruination of the best of relationships never mind new ones. When Libby’s ex comes back into the picture Seth runs without even asking what and why or how she felt. Granted he had had bad experiences but it angered me that he had no fight in him, fight for something he wanted. The characters are nicely developed, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. The author captures small town charm as well as the busy body friends and family. This book captivated my attention from start to end, there is plenty of drama, some angst, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful romance. Crystal Jackson, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I hope the rest of the series comes to audio soon.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Nikki Zakocs is a talented narrator and voice artist. She brings these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Her portrayal of each character is spot on, she grasps each character’s persona and plays the role with perfection, sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧
