About this listen

In a city divided and broken, this revelation will set it on fire...

Attorney Justin Glass's practice, housed in a shabby office on the north side of Saint Louis, isn't doing so well that he can afford to work for free. But when eight-year-old Tanisha Walker offers him a jar full of change to find her missing brother, he doesn't have the heart to turn her away.

Justin had hoped to find the boy alive and well. But all that was found of Devon Walker was his brutally murdered body - and the bodies of twelve other African American teenagers, all discarded like trash in a mass grave. Each had been reported missing. And none had been investigated.

As simmering racial tensions explode into violence, Justin finds himself caught in the tide. And as he gives voice to the discontent plaguing the city's forgotten and ignored, he vows to search for the killer who preys upon them.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this and found the main characters likeable & engaging, clearly a good set up for a series. I was a little disappointed with the amount of politics included & felt the main mystery could have benefited from a bit more attention but maybe I'm being picky.

Pleasent, but lost me part way through!

This is a nicely written book, with well drawn characters who I warmed to. Despite this, my attention began to waver 2/3rds through and eventually, I lost interest. I agree with an Audible American reviewer, in that it needs some twists and turns. I don't like twists to be overdone, but there is little here in the later chapters to maintain interest.

The narrator is excellent.

Little Boy Lost by J D Trafford

Excellent story by J D Trafford and nicely narrated by J D Jackson. Brought back memories of about 60 years ago when our English news told of how the first black lady dared to get on a white persons bus in America.

We were shocked in U.K. as it did and could not have occurred.

This author has told a moving story where I wanted to crawl in the pages and sort the white thugs out. However, not possible, it's fiction so I won't spoil the the good story of one black man, his daughter and his family, who seemed so real.
A good detective mystery until the very end which was very satisfying.

Well worth reading and, or listening to.

Very very good

The conspiracy and intrigue kept my interest the whole way through, with a surprising twist to cap it all off , the narrator was excellent, putting great feeling into the author's great story
