About this listen

Meghan Smith has always been a protective mother. Her baby son, Harry, has a life-threatening condition and is never far from her sight. But on the evening of her wedding anniversary, as she and her husband celebrate in the garden with friends, Harry disappears from his cot without a trace.

In an instant, the perfect life she always longed for is in tatters, her family exposed to interrogation and accusation in the glare of media attention. But none of it gets Meghan answers - or brings back her son.

As her life unravels and suspicion takes hold of her sanity, Meghan begins to question everything she once took for granted. Can she trust her husband? Can she trust her friends? Can she even trust herself?

I really enjoyed this audio book. The pace was good and the story moved along nicely.

Gripping

thoroughly enjoyable - not sure if at all gripping and perhaps limited in terms of possible suspects, but to be fair I didn't expect the one it was. Hats off to the narrator absolutely brilliantly done. I would without a doubt recommend. Not sure how many kidnapped/missing children books I can do - once you've done one you've more or less done the lot. So glad this was my first pick

I was wondering who done it until the very end. Good story and keeps you guessing.

Predictable storyline but still on tenterhooks

I didn't guess the plot until near the end as it went back and forth. A good story

.... like a million times already! Absolutely predictable and nothing new here. Disappointed as the writing was ithereusegoid

Any additional comments?

This is the worsed thing that could happen to if your a parent. This book would make me break out in a cold sweat at times, because all you can think about is how you would feel if it happened to one of your kids. You go on this journey with Meghan through the kidnap and the relationships, husband, friends and police.

The locked door..... Are was it???

I found the two parents, John and Megan very annoying. Their attitudes and behaviour just didn't seem to be that of parents whose eight month old baby had been taken. Megan had obviously been hit by John from time to time yet she seems to think it was OK to have a baby by him; is she mad or very irresponsible?!
She makes the most ridiculous decisions in her efforts to chase around like a headless chicken trying to find the kidnapper, just not realistic in my opinion.
The story drags on and on becoming even more improbable. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for this book.

Implausible characters

The main character was just not realistic. The whole thing was too lengthy and unbelievable on so many levels it was boring. Wish I had not wasted my money

Not worth bothering with.
