Summary
After Serena's boyfriend of six years abruptly leaves her, she indulges in mountains of chocolate. When that doesn't mend her broken heart, her friends convince her that a night out is just what the doctor ordered. That night she meets James. The encounter is breathtaking. Electrifying. And best not repeated.
James is a man who has amassed a fortune by taking risks. He's charming, seductive...and looking for fun. He's the exact opposite of Serena. But sometimes opposites attract. Sometimes they give in to burning passion. But are they meant for each other?
Contains mature themes.

The accent though
I am sorry, Maxine Mitchell normally is an exellent narrator but the accent was awful and super distracting from the story.
I loved the story itsself but could 't really enjoy it because of this. Pity.

They were both damaged souls
The story of Serena and James was perfect. Love how they met and how the relationship developed throughout the book. The English accent was spot on.

Hello, dysfuntional relationship..?
As mentioned in previous reviews, Maxine Mitchell is not at her best here, but what grated on me more was the severely dysfunctional relationship between Serena and James. Everything is on his terms, he always gets his way, always pressuring her into situations she is not comfortable with. It honestly just gave me the "ick". The novel is written in first person narration, in the present which makes the story feel stilted and not really flowing.
All in all, I can't say that I recommend this novel at all.

Weak story
Said it was narrated jointly but Joe Arden only narrated the last chapter! Weak storyline and didn't like the female narrator
