About this listen

"Jesse Vilinsky's versatile performance brightens this dark tale of a child who is forced to grow up too fast. Listeners will be captivated by how Vilinksy balances tragedy and hope in this eighth installment of the Wayward Children series."—AudioFile

Winner: 2022 Hugo Award for Best Series

A young girl discovers an infinite variety of worlds in this standalone tale in the Hugo and Nebula Award-wining Wayward Children series from Seanan McGuire, Lost in the Moment and Found.

Welcome to the Shop Where the Lost Things Go.

If you ever lost a sock, you’ll find it here.

If you ever wondered about favorite toy from childhood... it’s probably sitting on a shelf in the back.

And the headphones that you swore this time you’d keep safe? You guessed it....

Antoinette has lost her father. Metaphorically. He’s not in the shop, and she’ll never see him again. But when Antsy finds herself lost (literally, this time), she discovers that however many doors open for her, leaving the Shop for good might not be as simple as it sounds.

And stepping through those doors exacts a price.

Lost in the Moment and Found tells us that childhood and innocence, once lost, can never be found.

good story, annoying narrating in the beginning

Not the strongest story in series, but good enough to keep me entertained.

Might have had to high expectations from looking forward to the next book.

Antsis voice is extremely irritating in the beginning of the book.

Amazing

I loved this story. It had so much emotion tied to it and really kept my intrigued. I still cannot get over how Seanan writes so much in such small books.

I can’t wait to see where the rest of the story goes

Great Book!

2023 52 Book Challenge - 52) A Book Published In 2023

This was such a good book. It's so much darker than the rest of the series, and the themes in it feel so much more realistic to normal human life, and I think that is why this book hits harder than the other flashback books in the series.

I loved the idea of the Shop Where The Lost Things Go, and I kinda wanted the book to be much longer just to explore the Shop. I also found the big reveal of the Shop and the Doors to be a little drawn out, like I thought I understood what they were saying at first, but then they kind of skated around the issue for almost a chapter, and I think I would have just prefered them to stop beating around the bush. They'd already built up the suspense prior, and the tapering out of the explanation kind of made it anticlimactic.

I also think the way that the book is tied in with the rest of the series at the end is really cool. It makes me really excited for the next book.
