After the chaos of the war crimes case that very nearly ended both their lives, CPO Grant Nilsson and prosecutor Carly Jackson are taking things slow.
Things are peaceful and easy until Carly is assigned a murder case with the accused being a prominent local gang member.
Carly tries to keep her worlds as separate as they can be but after a series of threatening letters, the final straw is a drive-by shooting of her laundromat while she's in there.
