Fantastic!
Preformed in duet style ! This story is really unique I don’t think I’ve read/listened to anything like it before it has a forbidden element, slight age-gap , and I want to say a folklore element but it doesn’t have actual folklore it’s a hard one to describe but I love it the connection these two MC’s have is powerful this story does takes a dark turn in points so check trigger warnings if you have any sensitivities to situations, Neri and Asians story was so good the angst and longing was top notch in certain points, The author has done a great job establishing the connection Neri and Aslan have how it’s grown. The narrators really do a fantastic job in their performance both new narrators to me but they really brought the story to life I don’t think I would have felt so immersed in this story without the audio it just took it to another level.
this audio book ends on a cliffhanger but part 2 is out.

This could have been better…
It was so unnecessarily long, a lot of repetitive thought from the protagonists. I found it weird that even though the story was told by the old lady in the present, it was still from the guy’s point of view too. I didn’t mind having his POV but it didn’t tie well together with the interview narrative. The whole book sounds like it wants to be something super deep and insinuating the whole time that something big is coming when in reality it’s 16 hours of back and forth of the same thing being said numerous times, so much could’ve been edited out of this book, even though it’s super long, the characters aren’t multilayered enough for me, their personalities are basically that they are obsessed with each other. The last bit of the book goes for the shock factor and dumps in a cliff hanger so you’d buy the second one. All together I expected better, it could’ve been executed better, and it should’ve been half the length. Narrators were good
