Summary
What if you were born with an addiction to magic? What if your pleasure meant their pain?
The brutality of war was all Ian Troy had ever known. Peace was all he ever wanted. Fate had other plans when it placed the Crown of Stones, an ancient artifact of untold power, into his battle-weary hands. With one reckless wish, he ended a conflict that had been tearing the realms apart since before he was born—and paid a terrible price.
A decade later, Ian is still haunted by that tragic day. Running from the blood in his veins and on his hands, he struggles to forget—what he’s done and what he is. But when a fateful encounter with a pretty assassin brings his past crashing into the present, denial is no longer an option.
Hunted by enemies, old and new, with the realms burning and kings dying, Ian becomes embroiled in a violent race for control of the Crown of Stones. As the death toll mounts and the deceptions unfold, his path becomes clear: To save the realms, Ian must embrace the one thing he fears most...his own power.
Magic-Price is the award-winning first installment in The Crown of Stones, an immersive epic fantasy trilogy.

Wonderful audio book!
Having read books by this author previously I thought I would give an audio book a try and overall, I really enjoyed the story. It was a long listen I will admit but it actually went really quickly because I was so absorbed in the story. The narration was really good and pleasant to listen to. The story is quite complex but being able to listen to it actually really helped me imagine what was going on. I really liked the characters and the storyline was magical and creative.
Overall, a fantastic audio book and one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to the next one!

Magical
I love the descriptive work in this book. Ian Troy ends a brutal war by conjuring the Crown of Stones and he's left the only survivor after this use. He's of the Shirnee race and they are addicted to magic and kept as the bottom racking. I would say this is a dark fantasy novel this is an amazing start to the series. I would recommend for 16 + due to the language used.

A brilliant fantasy story
This author is one that I have come to really enjoy since discovering some other series and I was so excited to start listening to this story. I was pulled I this story so effortlessly. I found it really easy to get lost in the narration and imagine everything been described. This is the perfect kind of book to make into an audio book as it is so imaginative and detailed.
I really loved the story too. I thought it was a brilliant example of fantasy done well and it has me excited for book two. I would definitely recommend this story.

A must listen!!!!
How do you make a good book even better? Well you get the audio addition. I always like being able to listen to a good book. I like the fantasy setting for this and the complexity. I like how the narrator voices the characters and how much it adds to the richness of the story. I love the conflict in the book and how it builds for the main character.
Ian definitely is a character I can get into and also route for. I like how the author builds up the story and how the past is entwined. I look forward to the next book in this series and hope it also gets an audio addition.
