Summary
Ilona Andrews, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Kate Daniels series, invites you to a fresh start for Kate, Curran and Conlan, in a long novella and a short novel. The places and faces may be different, but they’ve brought some familiar friends and all the special brand of chaos they create!
This bundle contains the following long novella and short novel:
In Book #1, MAGIC TIDES, Kate, Curran and their son, Conlan have left Atlanta, vowing to keep a low profile, and are settling into a new city and new house…but some things never change! Magical mayhem is about to erupt when Kate undertakes the rescue of a kidnapped youth, while Curran guards the home front.
It should be a simple retrieval, but with monsters on land and sea, Kate’s got her work cut out for her. Still, she's never let her blade dull or her purpose falter. And that low profile? It’s about to wash away with the raging tides!
In Book #2, MAGIC CLAIMS, Kate and Curran have just settled into their new home and their “low profile,” when a local businessman approaches them with an offer they can’t refuse. A mysterious evil has spawned in the nearby forest and is holding a defenseless town hostage. The “ransom date” is rapidly approaching.
It’s exactly the kind of fight the Lennarts can’t resist, not for the prize the town offers, but for the people who will surely die if they ignore it. If they succeed, they’ll be rescuing an entire community and can build a strong new base for their family and the Wilmington Pack. If they fail...well, fail is a four-letter word.
Nothing comes without a price. Now Kate must decide if she has what it takes to pay it.

As a!always a great story
Ilona Andrews is always my go-to author and both the female and male narrators are very good.
The plot is always moving along but there's plenty in interaction between the individuals to keep the interest.
The best thing about this series is that all the main characters have significant roles and saving the day is not just down to the heroine.

Amazing book
Wow. What an awesome start to the new years of Kate and Curran and Conlan. I’m so excited and hope we get more books in the future. I’m wondering what happened to Derek back in Atlanta. No mention of him here. I really hope we find out soon. Wonderful narration as always.

Now I have to wait again.
The two stories are different but both have that one thing you will enjoy and love. I love the first story, i read it with a smile. It felt refreshing, like the authors had fun again while writing. The second story is slower but is more relevant to the plot. Additionally, the voice actors did an amazing job, I would give them a hug if I could.

Brilliant - Can't wait for more, more, please.
These are stories following Kate, Curran and Conlan (Kate Daniels Series) after leaving Atlanta and moving to Wilmington. I wont write too much about specifics so as not to give any spoilers but can say they left me wanting more, things happen and are in motion in Magic Claims that will absolutely delight and intrigue fans who have read/listened to the Kate Daniels Series. You won't be disappointed.
The new narrators have done a great job, and love that Curran has his own chapters and male narrator, spaced perfectly throughout the books enhancing the stories.
Overall thoroughly entertaining and can't wait for more. I'm completely addicted.
Also it is obvious the Authors, Ilona Andrews (Husband and wife team) care about their audio listeners, as shown by putting the two stories into to one 12hr+ audiobook, giving us value for money, unlike many other authors.

It just gets better and better!
They can do no wrong! These two semi-short stories pick up 6-7 years after the final book in the series. I can't tell you how glad I was that the Andrews decided to continue writing about Kate and Curren. Fantastic!

Classic Andrews- great plot and continual great relationship between Kate and Curran
If you love Kate Daniel’s novels you have to get these companion stories. Well narrated too but I have to admit to liking the previous narrator Renee better. This Kate could sound a little if a know it all at times and a bit nasally. But still two great short stories!

I miss snarky Kate
I've been binge-listening to the "Kate Daniels" series. Now I'm finishing with the last 2 books and it hit me why I don't enjoy them as much as the previous ones - Kate lost her sense of humor. I understand Kate and Curran are older (so do I :) ), but they are becoming too sensible, married couple. I know having children is challenging and on mine opinion that is exactly the moment people are turning to humor or going crazy. Please, let Kate find her sarcastic and funny side again.
