About this listen
Jack London’s semi-autobiographical novel, Martin Eden, follows a working-class sailor working feverishly to become a successful writer, while struggling with his love for a society girl.

The narration was great. I've listened to many audiobooks and now, after just one book read by him, I consider Edoardo one of the best narrators.
Perfect

This feels very autobiographical to me, and has the defiant individualism which characterises London's work. He attacks the usual suspects - materialism, bourgeoisie, duplicity, herd mentality - and meditates on love, success, and celebrity culture.
I was absolutely transfixed and desperate to see if he would finally find success. The narration is perfect, though the ending is a bit of a shocker (I loved it) but imagine his editor may have attempted to push him in a different direction...
Be careful what you wish for...
