Seinem Verfolger Sherlock Holmes gelingt es immer besser, neben dem "Modus Operandi", wie und wann der "Ripper" zuschlägt, auch die zahllosen Symbolismen in den Namen der Opfer und der gezielt ausgesuchten Tatorte zu deuten. Was aber nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen kann, dass die Morde des "Rippers" - wie auch der nächste an Mary Ann Nichols - zu immer grausameren Schauspielen werden.
