Great story, poorly realised.
I love the book, but the background music at the start is deeply irritating and detracts from the story. Later on, the narration is monotonous and simply lacks any kind of emotion.

Enjoyable immersive entertainment
I was aware of this series before I found this dramatised adaptation and I think the characters and concepts are wonderfully and faithfully brought to life here. The addition of sfx really took me into the heart of the action and I’ll certainly be looking for more of these.
As to the plot, it’s by C. J. Cherryh, what else do you need to know?
