Summary

Violet has always been in the shadow of her mesmerising, controlling brother Will, and when a shocking secret about Will's past is revealed, things get even worse. Violet retreats further into her own fantasy world, built around the fairy characters created by her favourite author, Casper Dream. The arrival of a new girl at school, Jasmine, seems like it might change Violet's life for the better. But is Jasmine a true friend? And will Violet ever manage to break free of Will's spell?

Okay

Not one of J's best. It dragged on a little bit and was a bit boring. Fell asleep half way though. Aa the case with other JW books, it was beautifully written with an emotional twist.

Midnight

I liked how Jasmine and Violet were really good friends. This story shows that you should always try and make up with a friend or family member if you have had an argument.

Darker than I remember

I first read this when I was 10, and loved Jasmine and Violet. But I didn't recognise the underlying theme of violence and manipulation from both Will and her father. I used to wish that Will was my big brother as he seemed really cool, but on reflection, I'm quite glad that he's not, preying on my fears and always pushing for the upper hand. However, I loved Jasmine, even in the end. I don't think it was the intention, but I ship Jasmine and Violet Imao

A fast, fantastic listen!

I was so engrossed in this story that I finished it in less than two days. I loved the fact that the siblings were the best of friends as well as mortal enemies. - 11 yr old

Read all

Please read all. It's very good but there is a section where violets best friend and brother are found snogging in the brothers bedroom, this is fairly mature for younger readers I am 12 and I really enjoyed this book 📚
