Wonderfully guided by the speaker.
I strongly recommend this practice. I can honestly say I can think with more clarity and have been learning how to let go moment by moment. I feel happier, inner peace and live a well balanced life.

Good For a Beginner
Well its OK, not long 2 hours 24 mins, but long enough to get you up and running so long enough I guess. And to be honest the goal is trying not to think, which is both very simple to do, and very hard to do for a long time. As thinking about "not" thinking
is actually "thinking" So its a inner silence you need capture and not thinking "don't think!"
Narrator is ok, sounds a bit like Marlon Brando in the godfather... which is ok, he does not "make you an offer you cannot refuse" just peace of mind is on offer ;-) ...………..

Unmissable!
“Like your life depended upon it, - like it does.” Beautifully explained and compassionately delivered. This has got to be the best written and delivered journey into mindfulness and hopefully the rest and best of your life.

Excellent clear introduction to Mindfulness
I am a clinical psychologist working with people experiencing a range of psychological problems, and recommend this to everyone I work with when using mindfulness (which is most people!). It is very easy to listen to, explaining the history and practice of mindfulness in every day life. The first half is a talk about mindfulness, the second half is a series of simple mindfulness exercises. Well worth the money!

Great contemplative book
This book is great on many levels. Whilst it is interesting on an information level the content becomes overwhelmingly relevant as you continue through the book. A definite good read/listen!

Average,not like getting the book
easy to follow
does not contain all what is in the book.
the narration is good
would have been better if all topics of the book
were covered.

life changing
the first time I listened to this was on a busy commuter train and I felt an instant calm. although I had heard of mindfulness I didn't know much about it. yet as his words unfolded I knew this would be important for me. It has taken me a couple of years to start regular practise but I have listened to this many times in that time. It started me on a journey which I suspect will make the rest of my life a nicer place to be.

Helpful, calming book that makes a difference
If you could sum up Mindfulness for Beginners in three words, what would they be?
Calming, useful, easy
What does Jon Kabat-Zinn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His calming voice really helps you, especially when you get to the meditative exercises as it would have been difficult to read and remember these and then perform the exercises properly - instead, you are talked through it in a clear and reassuring manner that helps you focus on the exercises and perform them properly, meaning that they are much more effective and useful.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a couple of points when he talked about stress and living in the moment that really hit me hard as I could recognise myself in the negative cycle he was describing and I realised how much that was affecting my life. Before trying this I was sceptical but afterwards I was able to see what a difference it had made and how much better I felt.
Any additional comments?
This book changed things for me dramatically - I lead a busy and often stressful life and this helped me learn how to step away from that and not get bogged down in daily stress and over thinking things but take some time to just appreciate the moment and bring some calm and non judgemental thinking to my day.
