Summary

The Mossad is widely recognized today as the best intelligence service in the world. It is also the most enigmatic, shrouded in secrecy. In Mossad, authors MichaelBar-Zohar and Nissim Mishal take us behind the closed curtain with riveting, eye-opening, boots-on-the-ground accounts of the most dangerous, most crucial missions in the agency's 60-year history. These are real Mission: Impossible true stories brimming with high-octane action - from the breathtaking capture of Nazi executioner Adolf Eichmann to the recent elimination of key Iranian nuclear scientists.

Anyone who is fascinated by the world of international espionage, intelligence, and covert black-ops warfare will find Mossad electrifying.

Good Background To Mossad

Many of the Mossad operations will be mostly familiar to anyone over the age of 55. It was a little long winded and hard going at times and gave the impression it had been written and not edited at all to cut down on, what for me, were unnecessary sequences.

Awesome Read, Thoroughly Enjoyed

I thoroughly enjoyed reading ( I read and listen at the same time )and listening to the audiobook. It’s a decent overview of the missions the Mossad carried out and wether they failed or accomplished them. It’s goes into a decent amount of detail about missions and the characters mentioned within.

I’d say it’s a great companion to the bigger book about the same subject called Rise and Kill First by Ronen Bergman whom the authors of this book took some of their sources of.

I’ve still got to finish Rise and Kill First as it starts as the introduction to how Israel came to be and the enemies it has plus it’s much more detailed BUT I’d highly recommend this audiobook which is perfectly narrated as a starting point into how the Mossad works. I’ll listen to this one again and again over they years to come.

Fantastic Book

A fantastic recording with additional information and mission details to previous books I have read that tell the same missions but lack the detail this delivers

A fascinating period in History.

I finished this book as social media was again full of the latest terrorist incident in London.
Maybe the Mossad strike first and keep the terrorist scared isn't a bad solution.

Essentially it's a quick summary, a fly through

But, handy for bigger picture and for digging further of that's your thing. Strange accent at first but ended up enjoying the narration

An Enlighting Spy Story

Well written, one of the authors spent 9 years with David Ben-Gurion, that, for me, made me read this book. In typical democratic style, it's a warts-and-all account. The botched operations receive as much attention as the successful ones. Since 10/7/23, I have concentrated on understanding this part of the world.
Putting it down became difficult, reading the last chapter is like losing a valuable friend.

Fascinating history of Mossad & its missions

Well read with lots of detail about the creation and evolution of Mossad along with some of its missions. The author describes the various Mossad leaders and its many operatives who helped shaped the organisation while carrying out important missions.

Fascinating listen

This was a joy to listen to as a collection of short stories giving just enough detail without getting bogged down unnecessarily. I really enjoyed the narration performance.
