About this listen
2087 - A colony of scientists is stranded on the moon as the Earth faces imminent disaster.
1504 - A wooden sailing ship is navigating the dangerous waters of religious fundamentalism.
Two events separated by space and time, yet destined to collide in a simple twist of fate.
When a comet changes course and heads for Earth, the finger of blame is pointed at one country. The entire planet is thrown into chaos, while on the moon, a colony of scientists faces the bleak prospect of being stranded...forever.
Will Cooper and Nadia Sokolova become unlikely allies in their struggle for survival. Can they make Armstrong Base self-sufficient before the food runs out? Will they ever see their families again? Can love conquer fear in one-sixth gravity? And what does a 16th-century sailing ship and its grizzled captain have to do with their plight? Can he stay alive long enough to uncover the origins of all humans on Earth?
Is this the end of man...or the rebirth of mankind? Only Mother Moon has the answers....

It’s not the story...
I liked the story concept. I liked it as far as I could listen to it, that is, but I found the performance too down beat. The narrator always sounded depressed , the characters had no discernible traits and always came over as apologetic. It’s all a bit of a drone. A lot of the inflections implied by the writing were narrated badly, to the point I was more concerned about rethinking the phrase as I think it should have been spoken, than the story. I’ll read the book instead for this one.

good book ruined by dreadful narration.
after recommendation i was looking forward to listening to this book. It seems well written with a good storyline. Unfortunately the clunky and awkward narration. (it feels listening to an automated recording) has rendered the story unlistenable. disappointed

Worst narrator I’ve ever heard
The story sounded great but I’d recommend buying the regular book not the audiobook. The narrator is the worst I’ve ever heard, sounding awkward and weird at all points. It was too distracting from the story and completely ruined it for me. I only got through 2 or 3 chapters before I had to refund it - Completely Unlistenable.
