تغفو وهي تقرأ الأوراد والآيات. أجد القوة والفضول للخروج من الحائط. أتحرك نحو الصغيرة النائمة التي تشع حرارة. أقترب منها فتفتح عيونها. تبتسم لي وتمد يدها كي تلمسني. أرتعد وأتراجع. هل تراني؟!. عيونها تتبعني أينما ذهبت. أنا لا أعرف شكلي. أنا مضغة لم تكتمل. هل استطالت قامتي وصرت رجلا؟ أم أنها تراني طفلا في مثل عمرها؟!. الصغيرة التي ظلت تصدر أصواتا غير مفهومة كانت تمد يدها في اتجاهي وتبتسم بعذوبة. غالبت خوفي واقتربت منها فأضاء وجهها. مددت يدي ومسحت على رأسها الساخن وجلستُ بجوراها أُردد تلك الأوراد الغريبة التي كانت تتمتم بها أمي. هدأت الحرارة وغفت الصغيرة وهي ممسكة بأهداب خِرَقي البالية. حاولت أن أنسل عائدا لجداري فتململت وقبضت عليّ بشدة فتركتُ بين أصباعها قطعة من خِرَقى.
