About this listen
A murder. A wedding reception. Not a good start to wedded bliss.
Plenty of quirky suspects including the wealthy rancher who's still in love with the best man's wife, the smarmy minister who ran against him for county supervisor in the recent election, the estranged stepmother of his wife, his sister-in-law's drug-addicted ex-husband, and his ex-girlfriend whose family has strong Mafia ties.
As always, plenty of recipes, dogs, and good food in this popular cozy mystery series by a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Cozy mystery at its best
I enjoyed this book. This is another cozy mystery that keeps you guessing over the motive, as well as the killer. The author gives you a number of suspects perspectives over the reason why the victim needed to die, surprisingly not over something she herself did, before Liz solves the case. This although a bit jumpy, does work well for the story as the suspects slowly get eliminated from the list as you follow Liz after a few red herrings.. The story is full of interesting and often quirky characters which certainly keep it entertaining. This is just a nice easy cozy mystery that you can pick up a book anywhere in the series and know you will lose yourself for a couple of hours in a good mystery.
Liz and Roger's big day has finally arrived and with no guests staying at the B&B, they can sit back and enjoy the perfect wedding. Unfortunately before they can start there honeymoon Roger gets a phone call, his ex work colleague bob and one of the guest at the wedding needs his help. His sister in law was shot and killed in her hotel room while babysitting his young daughter. With Seth still some how sheriff, Liz knows she can't go on her honeymoon and leave the investigation up to him. Especially when Laura's death seems like it only happened so someone could get back at Bob or wife. Were they the real targets? Liz will have to look into a wide range of suspects to find the killer, from a mafia boss's daughter who was dumped to a minister that isn't so squeaky clean, her own ex husband who went into rehab to get her back to even her strange step mum who is still grieving for her husband. Can Liz find the killer? Or will her big day be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
I liked the narrator. She has a pleasant voice that brings character to each of the characters as the mystery is revealed.

cozy
I did enjoy listening to Kelli Petroski
What a start, a murder from the start., with a black-dressed gunman barging into a room and killing the occupant. We meet a host of characters . The newly-weds set out to solve the crime and help their friends. A story that is filled with everything interesting characters, suspects galore. I was kept guessing until the end.
