About this listen
When a young man is found hanging inside the Ashford family tomb, Redmond and Haze assume the man had run afoul of the noble family and paid for it with his life. Once they identify the remains, they discover not only the victim’s shocking secrets but that the young man had an unexpected connection to Jason.
With few leads and no obvious motive for the murder, will Redmond and Haze solve the case before the killer claims another life?

Cheesy good fun but…
I do enjoy these books. They rattle along set in the latter half of the nineteenth century but it never seems to matter quite when and period detail definitely comes second to plot. They’re enjoyably inventive in bumping people off and the solution to the mystery always fits, no matter how out there. However! And it’s a biggie. The narrator drives me mad. Her inflection is odd, she can’t do London accents or indeed many others and I have to play the books at faster speed than normal or her drawling would be unbearable.
