About this listen

From the authors of the best-selling series CHERRINGHAM

Lavinia's annual Masked Ball at Mydworth Manor is a highlight of the season, as locals mingle with the great and famous from London. But the lavish party comes to a full stop when one of the guests is found dead down by the lake. It seems it's a clear case of a heart attack. But Harry and Kat suspect that the dead man in a mask was in fact the victim of a clever case of murder. And the killer's work at the party is not yet done...

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

WELL IN THEIR STRIDE FOR ANOTHER MYSTERY

Richards & Costello have now settled into a good rhythm and Book 4 is proof. Harry and Cat/Kat are now well defined characters for whom we are rooting from the start. Usual stalwarts Aunt Lavinia and the Alvis make appearances, and the Sussex countryside is starting to become a character in itself. We have still not come across anything at which Cat/Kat is not accomplished. Would be lovely if Harry could rescue her...just once. Now waiting for Book 5.
(Wish we could subscribe to series like these, and either be emailed as to when the next is released, or automatically billed and it goes in our library as with PreOrders.)

A repeat of Book 1?

To have someone murdered at a ball in your stately home is unfortunate, but believable. A second murder during another ball ... well, I'm beginning to suspect Aunt Lavinia!

Enjoyable!

Enjoyable, light-hearted romp. Pleasant easy listening that is great to listen to at night or whilst ironing etc, as it doesn't require too much active listening. I shall continue to listen to the series although it still isn't up to the Cherringham level. Please bring back Jack and Sarah!
