What part did mollies and Fireball whiskey play in a murder at a country music festival held outside of Palm Springs, California? Why was the celebrity chef, Jacques Rushon, owner of the French Food Obsession food truck murdered? The suspects at the top of the sheriff's list are Marty Morgan's friends John, the owner of The Red Pony food truck, and his assistant, Max.
Or was it the ex-wife who was owed back child support? Food truck competitors John and Max? The owner of the White Stallion Ranch where the music festival was held? Jacques' drug dealer? Jacques' partner in the food truck, Ned? Or Ned's wife, Rita? In order to save her own life, Marty has to solve the murder mystery. Fortunately, she has a little help from Jeff, her police detective fiance.

A festival of a mystery
I enjoyed this book. This is the third book in the series and having listened to a number of books in the series it was nice to learn a little bit more about some of the secondary characters that are always in the background of each mystery. The author creates an interesting and colourful story that takes place around a musical festival and food truck and with the great characters it was a fun dip into that world. I enjoyed the quirky dog antics that added a lighter side to the subject of drugs and murder. The mystery was easy to follow and gave you a number of suspects to choose from andI liked the round up of what happened to each character after the mystery was solved. A fun book.
John has landed a big opportunity of running his food truck The Red Pony at a music festival and has asked his friends to help out and enjoy the festive. The only bad thing is his rival food truck owner Jacques is pitched in the spot next to him and with long lines waiting to be served French cuisine tempers start to fray. There is no way the food is the good. Then the French imposter is found dead and the police think John or his assistant are to blame. Marty doesn't think so and set out to find the real killer. She starts by trying to figure out what he was really selling, that made people keep coming back to his truck. The clues and her psychic sister have her looking out for the motive. Was it the ex wife? The business partner? A drug dealer or even the owner of the festival? All seemed to have a motive and it's up to Marty to figure out.
The narrator was okay. She had a very deep voice which worked for the men voices but I am not sure it helped me picture the character of Marty.
