Summary
My best friend's younger brother is all grown up. And gorgeous. Casey’s off limits. Forbidden. But that just makes me want him more.
Rylan
I’ve watched Casey grow up. I never imagined how the sweet, scrawny kid would turn into a hot, muscular man. A hot guy who just came out.
Casey torments my thoughts. And my dreams. I need to stay far, far away from my best friend’s kid brother. Should be easy, right? I can find plenty of guys to distract me.
Problem is, all I want is the one man I can’t have.
Casey
There's never been a time when I wasn't in love with Rylan. My brother's best friend was my first crush. My only crush. He's the one man I shouldn't go near. And here I am spending the summer in the apartment he shares with my older brother.
That seemed like a good idea in the beginning. I thought I could handle it, but being so close to the man I've always wanted, I’m not so sure. About anything.
I can have any man - except the one I want.
It’s going to be a long, hot summer.

A very sweet story.
John Solo continues to be one of my favorite audiobook performers and he did a fantastic job with this book. I don’t know how to describe how his performance of K.C. Wells words makes me feel. I read the book a few weeks ago and loved it then but, OMG, listening to John perform it was even better. He absolutely nailed each character and made them even better than how I imagined them when I read it.
Casey has been in love with his brother’s best friend for several years but never thought anything could come of it. Spending the summer with his brother and Rylan allows Rylan to see Casey in a different light and things happen. There’s an age gap of about 8 years but it’s not beat to death. (I don’t care for age-gap books that go on and on about the age-gap.)
I love how the new relationship between Casey and Rylan evolved over a few weeks and didn’t happen instantly. They allowed their friendship to change and strengthen before anything serious happened between them.
Ever since Casey came out his brother has warned him that Rylan is a man-whore and that Casey shouldn’t get any ideas about crushing on him. Casey’s brother also told Rylan that he must stay away from Casey. I thought Rylan and Casey handled things with Casey’s brother really well. It was a relatively low angst scene that didn’t get blown all out of proportion and I found that refreshing.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Sweet shared-proximity m/m romance!
BFFs and housemates, Rylan and Trask, are competitive about their conquests until Trask’s brother, Casey, joins them for summer break and Trask warns Rylan to his hands off his younger brother. This classic shared-proximity romance was sweet with little angst. I was a little surprised that Trask couldn’t see how hurtful his attitudes were, and I thought Rylan was pretty forgiving. I loved the California hiking and beach scenes, I could really visualise the lovely backdrops. John Solo gives a solid audio performance.

A Sweet & Delightful Romance! Fantastic Narration🎧
K.C. Wells shows us her sweet side in this wonderfully delightful romance. The story drew me right in, capturing my attention from the very start and holding it the entire book. I adored the characters, Rylan and Trask roommates and best friends, Trask’s younger brother Casey will be staying with them over his summer break. Trask knowing of Rylan’s player ways and the revolving door to his bedroom he asks him to not bring any men home while Casey stays with them. Casey fell in love with Rylan when he 14 and he still feels the same at 19. This is a beautiful, feel good slow burn romance, the story is heartwarming and beautifully plotted. Wells thank you for another wonderful novel, I loved every minute of it.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, John Solo is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. He brings these characters to life giving each their own distinct voice and personality. His portrayal of the characters is exceptional, he grasps each persona and plays the role with perfection. I love how he takes each role and makes it his own sounding believable in that role and just as I picture they would sound. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Hot, well written and a feel-good book
Two nearly thirty (Well, 27-year-olds) living together, working together, best friends. Rylan (Gay) and Trask (Straight) had been friends since forever and still were. However, this summer, Trask's gay little brother was coming to stay, and he didn't want Rylan to lead him astray.
Casey, 19, Gay and living away from home at college and staying with his brother for the summer holidays in California. Sun, Sea and hopefully hot sex. Casey had had a crush on his brothers best friend since he was 14, and now he will stay in their apartment. He couldn't wait.
Rylan was apprehensive about seeing Casey again. He loved the young Casey he took to theme parks and took on rides, but he was pleasantly surprised to see that Casy had grown into a beautiful young man. Wow, this was going to get complicated. Two months of seeing this man and not being allowed to bring home any conquests (Trask's decision on how not to coerce Casey into the dark side).
This book is well written, hot and fun. Overbearing big brother and best friend. Interfering and protective. HEA. Sun, Sea and naked bodies on beaches, what more do we need in life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the excellent narration from John Solo helped. Although, like usual, I sped up the audio, and I listened at 1.35 speed on audible.

Casey is all grown up, and Rylan has noticed!
Casey has been in love with his brother's best friend, Rylan, since he was 14 years old. And now he's going to spend the summer in the same apartment with him... gulp! This was a super fun and very sweet story -- a bit of tension and all the feels, and if this trope is among your favorites it will tick all the boxes for you. I enjoyed every moment! Excellent and nuanced narration by John Solo brings these characters to life.

good premise, badly executed
The acting is ok when he speaks normal, but when he whispers, it literally gives me the creeps. It sounds pervy and creepy instead of hot.
The idea was cool, but it's not well written. The first 8+ chapters are them talking about how other men are hot, what they do to other men, and how it is to like other men as if that's a sexy way to flirt and fall in love with each other. I would have rather listened to how they get to know each other once more or to feel the tension they feel once they are together. I mean, the brother/best friend was there!!! Talk about incredible opportunities to make us feel the tension.
not good.
