About this listen
Lexi is on top of the world
The podcast she co-hosts with her ride-or-die bestie is going stratospheric. But will all this fame and success cost them their friendship?
Joanne's just had a baby
But her pals keep forgetting that she's no longer available for tequila-fuelled nights out. She loves her son and her boyfriend but the loneliness is killing her.
Claire is feeling left out
The Whatsapp chat with her old school friends is ominously quiet these days, which can only mean one thing: a side group without her. Can she convince them to give her another chance, or is it time to move on and seek out new BFFs?
Fate brings Claire, Joanne and Lexi together as they navigate the knotty, joyful and occasionally toxic swamp that is female friendship. But how will they each decide which friendships to fight for, and which to let go forever?
Critic reviews
"EXTREMELY funny and refreshingly honest about the unacknowledged complexity of female friendship." (Marian Keyes)
"Her best yet. It's astute, relatable, hilarious, insightful, and utterly impossible to put down." (Louise O'Neill)
"Unputdownable...a darkly funny, raw story about friendship, vulnerability and honesty." (Irish Times)

Disappointing
Had really good potential & liked the underlying messages about female friendships & mental health difficulties but so disappointed with this book. Unfortunately I don’t think it was the correct narrater, disliked Jamie’s English accent & the posh Dublin ones. Went on way too long & was quite unrealistic sometimes. It was just ok but I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends to read.

Very relatable for new mums and mental illness.
I loved the different accents, really made the voices believeable. I really related with the mental illness topics and feel it was definitely written by someone who has experienced or has a closeness to it. I laughed out loud alot, which is always a plus, also- as a new mum, I felt less lonely thanks to the Joanne character! so much relatable stories and scenarios- social media pressures too! highly recommend:)

Wonderful storyline
I really enjoyed the storyline, both funny and sad but “keeping it real”
Beautifully narrated

Very disappointing
Was really looking forward to this but was very disappointed. It was far too long winded , full of clichés -really cheesy also.

So bad
One dimensional characters full of cliches, I wish I had left this unfinished but thought it would have some redeeming features at the end - it didn’t. Total time waste. These types of book is what gives “chick lit” a bad name.
