Caught my attention

I have always had an interest in mythology so when I saw this book, I had to get it. The introduction includes commentary on the major classical poets used as sources, and on how changing cultures have led to changing characterizations of the deities and their myths. It is frequently used in high schools and colleges as an introductory text to ancient mythology and belief.

Definitely, this book will be good to all the horror and Adventure ardent readers and movie watchers, the book is written on the stories on ancient Jewish scrolls, contributing much to the Jewish traditions, Roman ancient believes, Greeks ways of believing, and the Egyptian tales, all in this one book.

Comprehensive collection of mythical stories

As the title implies, this book is a comprehensive collection of mythical stories around the world, spanning a variety of cultures and time periods. The book covers the well-known ones like Greek, Roman, Egypt, Norse, and Celtic Mythology. I liked that there was a section on Jewish Creatures and Myths. My only gripe is that there's no Vietnamese mythology, but that doesn't detract from me enjoying this book overall. This is a great anthology for those seeking a bird's eye view of the World's myths and legends. It's very helpful, entertaining to read, and easy to understand. It serves as an excellent reference guide to help you get your bearings - particularly useful for looking up mythologies that are unfamiliar to you, so you can have a good grounding for further research into favorite areas. It manages to be concise yet detailed.

Interesting and informative!

A very interesting and informative! This book serves as an introduction to six of the most popular mythologies that ever existed: Greek, Roman, Norse, Jewish, Egyptian, and Christian. If you're not yet familiar with these subjects but want to start learning something about them, you'll probably find this book to be quite useful.

Useful and informative reference

This is a very useful and informative reference guide introducing the history of Gods, Men, and the Mythologies of the World. Has a lot of details about the ancient cultures and stories. Without a doubt, there is a lot of information. In one series, the listeners go around the world to realize how different groups reasoned the creation, death, the misery or injustices of daily lives, the environment, other animals, and other vagaries of our existence. The scope of the series is absolutely breathtaking as professors make us travel to almost every corner of the pre-modern world. All in all, this was a really great reference for my purposes - delving into various world myths as an amateur. It only gets four stars because it could be a little more comprehensive, but it is definitely worth picking up if, like me, you're a mythology buff.

Enjoyed it

That is a subject that I like to immerse myself in. I like to understand the mind and thinking of the ancient peoples and the ramifications to our times. We do live in an archetypal society. Civilization started with myths, we are making our own myths now. I really enjoyed what I read so far.
