About this listen
The idea behind natural childbirth has changed many times throughout the past centuries. Women were once revered and offered comfort and praise as they brought new lives into the family. As time went on however, women became shunned, and the only responsibility they had was giving birth, and if they didn't happen to survive this event, so be it. We operate from a much different standpoint in today's world. There are many options to choose from as you begin to educate yourself about your pregnancy and upcoming labor and childbirth. Natural childbirth is a philosophy that operates from the belief that women who are educated and prepared are able to give birth without any medical interventions. The present medical interventions that used to be the only option are now only one of many ways to bring a new life into this world. The idea that one must have anesthesia, pain relief and episiotomies has been challenged. There are a variety of wonderful and effective techniques that can help a woman throughout the labor and birthing process.
There are several options to choose from when it comes to where a woman opts to experience this event. There are also several choices when it comes to choosing a birth coach or partner to assist her with her labor and childbirth. Midwives, doulas and coaches are all excellent options as support systems during the miracle of birth. This manual will explore each option, and will educate the pregnant woman as she moves through the pregnancy and prepares for labor. It is filled with techniques and tips to help you better understand the natural childbirth process.
