Summary
There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan:
1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris
2) He's not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants
3) He doesn't know how to knit.
After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn - former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat - is ready to propose marriage. In fact he's more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day - thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of prematrimony: engagement; meeting the parents; bachelor/bachelorette party; and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions. But Janie, much to Quinn's dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motions, no matter how minute and mundane.
Will Quinn last until the wedding day? Or will he yield to his tyrant impulses?
Regardless, one thing is for certain: Quinn Sullivan will have to learn to expect the Spanish Inquisition (i.e., the unexpected) if he plans to have and keep Janie Morris as his wife.
You must listen to Neanderthal Seeks Human first before listening to this book.
This book is written in first person with alternating POVs (Janie Morris and Quinn Sullivan, but more Janie than Quinn).

Very funny romantic sequel.
Oh I do so love Penny Reid. But she has forgotten that her readers are worldwide, including some (like me) living in London. So glaring factual errors will be noticed! Penny has filled this book with a glorious amount of trivia which must have taken so much research, so I am surprised at this slip-up:
The Tower of London might be a tourist attraction, but it is also the home of the Crown Jewels, and security is discrete but watertight. Each night the Tower is locked to the public, in “The Ceremony of the Keys”. After the gates are closed, only Yeoman Warders (they are all former service men and yes, those are real machine guns they carry with their ceremonial uniforms), their families and on-duty members of the Armed Services, are permitted entrance – and only to very specific areas. The wonderful thing about traditions like this, is that no matter how rich, powerful, and influential you are, there are still things that money truly cannot buy. Entrance to the Tower of London after hours is one of those things. I did love the scenes at the Tower in this book, in particularly the Torture Rooms. I just wish I was not continually distracted by my mental eye-rolls throughout the whole romantic scenario, especially in the Jewel Room! If you can understand that the estimated value of the Crown Jewels is £3-5 BILLION pounds, you will understand how impossible it is that this would have happened.
However, this book is such a joy to read I am certainly not about to deduct stars for the above criticism. It is a continuation of the first book in the series and I initially wondered how Penny Reid could make a story out of a couple who have been together five months, with a relationship that is progressing smoothly. But this is a truly unique couple – “quirky” would be an understatement when describing this h.
The H is desperate to get married, fast. We get the POV of the previously inscrutable H and realise that he is actually human (!) and not only seriously adores the h, but deep down worries that she may soon realise that he is just not good enough for her. The h, meanwhile, is worried that it is too much too soon and that one day the “other shoe will drop” and the H will realise that he can find someone better. Therefore she decides that arranging a huge over-the-top wedding with every feature possible (including doves!) will put enough strain on their relationship to test their long term potential.
Parts of this book were hilarious. Particularly mention must go to the scene where the h met one of her fiance’s ex girlfriends. Definitely not the usual “meet the ex” scenario. I was also laughing out loud when h decided that abstinence would be a good way to add stress, quickly decides she does not want the self-imposed deprivation, only to find the H takes up her suggestion and insists on it – to her horror. Then there was a fabulous Vegas visit, with surprising consequences for a couple that feature in another book – a wonderful tie-in for those of us lucky enough to have read it already. Special mention also has to go to the surprising source of the wedding dress – that really was an unexpected twist!
Meanwhile, we learn more about the h's truly “dysfunctional family” and experience her sheer joy at discovering her finance’s family. Her determined efforts to reunite them was touching and emotional for all concerned.
As usual, Penny does not do things normally, and my dismay at the lack of epilogue was quickly overcome when she instead supplied a “missing chapter” from a previous part of the book. Told from the H’s POV, this gives us final confirmation that this is a very special couple, truly deserving of each other, with both fully appreciating how lucky they are to have found each other.
A wonderful, and very unique romance that is well worth reading.

Loved this book
The writing was intelligent, fast paced and funny. A perfect romance. Not filled with overly gratuitous sex scenes just for the sake of it. I really enjoyed and looking forward to book 2, Nico and Elizabeth's story

Fabulous series
Why has my life been empty of Penny Reid’s books for so long!!! She has a flair for weirdly funny characters and adorable men. This is a highly recommended series and one that I will listen to again and again.

I just love Janie and Quinn
Loved it. Everyone should give this book a chance and read book 1 Neanderthal Seeks Human along with this one. The pair of them are just perfect together.
I loved the narrators, specially Sebastian York for Quinn's character is really suited.
