Summary
A collection of tales to invade and paralyse the mind as the safe light of day is infiltrated by the shadows of the night. As you listen, the clutching fingers of terror brush lightly across the nape of the neck, reach round from behind to clutch and lock themselves, white-knuckled, around the throat.
This is the horror of ordinary people and everyday objects that become strangely altered; a world where nothing is ever quite what it seems, where the familiar and the friendly lure and deceive. A world where madness and blind panic become the only reality.
Includes the stories "Jerusalem's Lot", "Graveyard Shift", "Night Surf", "I Am The Doorway", "The Mangler", "The Boogeyman", "Gray Matter", "Battleground", "Sometimes They Come Back", "Strawberry Spring", "The Ledge", "The Lawnmower Man", "Quitters, Inc.", "I Know What You Need", "The Last Rung on the Ladder", "The Man Who Loved Flowers", "One For The Road" and "The Woman in the Room".

The mystery of the missing stories
I bought this book specifically for 3 of the missing stories. I am so disappointed!
The narrator is great but I could have survived without the music.

Missing a few stories.
Good read but is missing at least 3 stories from the published book. Gutted as they are some of my favourites, including the short story follow up to Salems Lot "one for the road"
However John Glover does a fantastic job of narration adding his own spin to some of the characters makes for a great listen

Meh...
Stories are generally good but as it doesn’t actually contain all of the stories from Night Shift I can’t help feeling a bit cheated...
Performance isn’t the best and is overdone at times. The “mood music” is terrible and often drowns out the narrator when it is played - I think it’s supposed to help emphasis the horror aspect but it’s really just very annoying.
I have most of Stephen King’s works in my Audible library and I can easily say that this production does not meet the usual high standards... missed opportunity.

A Great Intro To King
If you want to ease yourself into Stephen King but don't have time for a whole novel, his short stories are a fantastic starter. This audiobook isn't the full Night Shift collection, but it does have a good breadth of topics; mixing the expected King-standard horror and gore with some really human focused ones that raise questions and explore them just enough for the reader to truly empathise with the characters.
Initially I wasn't convinced on the narration, finding Glover suits some stories more than others, but as the stories ramped up in pace and production value, with more use of music and sound to set the tone, I think he does fit the overall vibe of the collection.

Good performance and a couple of good stories.
Bit some also equally bad stories. Like bad bad. As in not good. (last sentence was just to get the minimum word count.)

Enjoying mix of short stories
Well narrated, music can be annoyingly loud at times but only at the start or end of stories.
worth a credit

Some good yarns
I enjoyed several of these stories, though I really prefer full-length stories from Stephen King. The music and sound effects really added to a few of the stories: so if you like a set of 20 or 30 minute tales, this may we'll be for you.
