Hudson Carter returned to Foggy Basin and now owns his family’s hardware store Nuts and Bolts. He not only gained a new business when he moved home, he also found the love of his life.
Jack Hulbert loves all the changes his new boss and boyfriend, Hudson, has made to the old, failing hardware store. But as the holiday season gets closer, he wants to do something different this year.
Jack is from a big family, while Hudson’s an only child. When they're invited to spend Christmas with Jack's family, Hudson is hesitant but willing. When the weather takes a turn there's an even bigger chance of chaos but what's Christmas without chaos?

This is a review for the audiobook version of the story, I have previously written one for the printed book so I will focus my attention on the audio narrative.
It is a beautiful story to listen to and as a short one at a little over an hour it would be perfect for a car journey or, as I tend to do with shorter audiobooks, listened to whilst cooking or before going to sleep. Guy Veryzer has narrated both titles and he is very good. It is possible to notice a distinction between the characters and he tries to use as much inflection as possible so that it feels real. The only place I struggled to listen was the steamy scene. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with it at all and think it a great scene but his reading of it made it quite boring. That one scene aside this is a lovely gentle audiobook and a great listen.

Story - super sweet extra short story where the MCs from the main book are having their first Christmas together, and both want it to be perfect. Hudson wasn't really a Christmas fan, but very adorable in doing everything to make Jack happy.
