Summary
Remembering the dead will always give them life.
The coveted Morrígan’s staff is up for sale on the black market to the highest bidder, and SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins will do whatever it takes to ensure the Dominion Sect doesn’t get their hands on it. Returning the weapon to its rightful owner is another step on the long road toward clearing Patrick’s soul debt, but he won’t walk it alone. Jonothon de Vere won’t let him.
Obeying the gods means Patrick must travel to London. For Jono, it means facing a past he thought he’d left behind forever. His return to England isn’t welcome, and neither is their pack, but Jono and Patrick will face the antagonism together. Politics aside, their priority must be the mission, but the bone-chilling secret they uncover in the London god pack will have far-reaching repercussions no one can ignore.
A race against time takes Patrick and Jono from the streets of London to the bright lights of Paris, where hospitality is thin on the ground, the air is filled with whispered prayers for the missing, and the Morrígan’s staff will end up in the one place it should never have gone - a graveyard.
For beneath Paris lie the long-forgotten dead, and when they rise to walk again, the living can only hope to die.
On the Wings of War is a m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Vigil in the Mourning. Listening to the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

A fantastic series
I am really enjoying this series, great plot, lots of action and the characters are great. I've just discovered there is a book seven coming out in October. I'm thinking whether I should listen to the next book or wait until book seven comes out in audio.

Everything you could want from a series!
This series is EVERYTHING.
First off, the relationship. Jono and Patrick are just so solid and full of love, even if Patrick can’t say it. You can definitely feel it here in the way they look to one another, lean on each other, and just generally love with all they have. They’re definitely slotting in as one of my favorite book couples.
The pack dynamics are amazing too. Sage and Wade are such a part of this family and this book would be nothing without them. (I dare you to say Wade isn’t your favorite character, you are a liar!)
Then, of course, the main event, the incredible world building that Turner somehow tops in each installment. You have multiple pack politics, magical policing politics, foreign politics, the greater magical world, and so many different mythologies that you would think it wouldn’t work, but Turner seamlessly blends it all together and no storyline is lacking.
This installment was full of action, had a good dash of humor (WADE ❤️ and also Spencer), has so many twists and turns (that last big reveal!). It seriously had everything you could want in a book and just further proved why this series is one of my favorites.

Utterly and Completely Blown away and in AWE
Let me start first with the story, the author has created one of my most loved stories ever, I can fall into the words in this book and get utterly and completely lost!! It has one of the best world building I have ever seen, and the characters grow and become more and more amazing with each page, I love this story.
Then the audio version is completely out of this world, the narrator at each and every turn brings the book to life, an enthralling tale that when listening to it you find things you missed in the reading. I love how he remains consistent throughout with the voices.
I highly recommend this audio to everyone!!

On The Wings Of War
I don’t think I have ever been so invested in a fantasy series as I have than with Hailey Turner’s Soulbound series.
I remember right at the beginning when I reviewed book one, I wasn’t really enamoured with the relationship between Jono and Patrick, but as the books have developed so has their friendship, love and loyalty.
Hailey never ceases to amaze me with her complex storytelling, imagery and world building.
In this instalment Jono and Patrick and friends travel to London and Paris to try to regain the Morrigan staff.
There is so much action going on in all of these books that you could read/listen to them numerous times and still find something you missed first time round, so they are definitely going to be placed in my favourites folder!
Gary Furlong has become a firm favourite and a go to narrator for me since listening to him narrate this series.

5 Even Better the Second Time Around Stars!!!
I've had the great luck to review both the ARC and the audio for this fantastic book and like the 4 books that come before—and that you definitely need to read beforehand—it gets better the second time around. Perhaps part of that is that I already know what happens so I'm not as surprised when sh*t hits the fan, which if you're familiar with Hailey Turner and the Soulbound series, you already know it's gonna happen or maybe it's because I tend to fast read through some parts and miss on them and audio allows me to focus on little clues, I don't know, I just know that it's no chore reading/listening these series has been a great experience for me.
I won't rehash my original review, I pretty much stand by it. I was super glad neither Patrick nor Jono did anything stupid, I love how they keep growing closer and Wade is the bomb. The writing is superb, the plot is brilliant and I can't wait for more.
Now on to the audiobook, Gary Furlong has done an amazing job throughout the series, especially considering how cast-oriented these books are. He gives each and every character a distinctive voice and somehow keeps up with them, even when there are more than 4 people in one scene. My favorites are Jono, Mr. Furlong's British accent is to die for, and Wade, because, well, he's Wade and he's perfect. LOL
If you can, do yourself a favor and get this in audio, I'm certain you won't regret it.

Absolutely Fantastic!
This 5th book in the Soulbound series is absolutely fantastic. Patrick and Jono have finally become a seamlessly matched pair. No more going off without consulting the other, no more going it alone, and it's awesome. The book is full of action, tension, and suspense, with new challenges, new conflict, new enemies, and old friends. The gods are still sticking their noses in, but most of the conflict comes from other supernaturals - demons, mages, necromancers, shifters, zombies - and just plain, power-hungry humans. Some of the scenes will make you go ick, as the trail of destruction and death that always follows Patrick and his allies extends it's reach to London and Paris. It's a nonstop thrill-ride, but there are also some great sexy times between Patrick and Jono, and Wade continues to provide comic relief with his insatiable appetite and love of sweets. I love this series, and I will be eagerly and impatiently waiting for the next book. Ms. Turner can't write them fast enough.
Gary Furlong's narration is always spectacular. I don't know how he manages to say all those foreign and complex names and words without stumbling. His narration is smooth and natural-sounding.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

An Incredible Installment in the Series
On the Wings of War is the fifth book in the Soulbound series, and one I’ve been waiting for with bated breath. Wings of War cannot be read on its own and the entire series must be read in order to fully understand what’s going on.
On the Wings of War was an incredible book and an exciting installment in the Soulbound series. I was left on the edge of my seat as the plot kept building and building until the magnificent climax that engulfed the entire city of Paris in an epic battle. The book ended on a cliffhanger, but it wasn’t a biting-your-nails cliffhanger, but an unexpected twist that had me gasping out loud. The characters were wonderful with a lot of tender moments between Patrick and Jono and a lot of fun and entertaining banter between all the characters. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out.
The audiobook was narrated by Gary Furlong who does a fantastic job. Gary voices all the characters wonderfully and has kept their voices consistent throughout the series. I had no trouble at all following along with audiobook and was able to keep all the characters distinct. The audiobook performance was spectacular and the overall production was well done. This all culminated in an extremely enjoyable listening experience.

This Series Gets Better And Better
I loved this book when I read it. Patrick and Jono are one of my favourite book couples in one of my favourite urban fantasy series. The action is relentless as the guys chase the Morrigan's staff across Europe, with London and Paris getting their turn with Patrick's particular brand of adventure and destruction...
Gary Furlong does another amazing job bringing the story to life, really ramping up the tension and suspense in the more pacy parts, bringing some real spine tingling feelings to the darker elements and raising some real laughs out loud where there's humour...his portrayal of Wade in particular is brilliant for this.
I absolutely recommend this audiobook, but with the caveat that I'd also start at the beginning of the series if you haven't already listened to those books.
