About this listen

How far would you go for happily ever after?

From the number one Sunday Times best-selling author of the Caraval series, the first book in a new series about love, curses and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.

For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in happily-ever-after. Until she learns that the love of her life is about to marry another and her dreams are shattered.

Desperate to stop the wedding and heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.

But after Evangeline's first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game - and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy....

Loved the story and the performance brought it to life.
Full of magic that reminds me of the fairytales I used to read as a kid.

Loved it

This audiobook transported me straight back to my teenage years of reading, in the BEST way possible. From the very first few chapters, I was completely hooked. The storytelling is the perfect blend of whimsical and enchanting, exactly what every romantasy lover dreams of.
Jacks is the ultimate morally grey main character—charming, complex, and impossible not to be intrigued by. The plot is full of twists and turns, some of which genuinely took me by surprise. That unpredictability is what kept me coming back for more.
I found myself listening so consistently that I had to remind myself to slow down and savor it, because I knew I’d be heartbroken when it was over. Fitting, really—given the title.
If you’re looking for a story that feels like magic, heartbreak, and romance all wrapped into one, this is it.

Obsessed from beginning to end.

female character was not likeable. super dense and annoying. I would love it if they gave the female character a bit of sense. I did not like how super naive and annoying she was

although at times, the female lead at times, came across a bit annoying to me.( not sure if that was in the narration rather than story) I can't help recognise a good story. when you finish and go directly for the next book because ... how dare you end it there! and then you listen to the next book in a weekend.
I manage to love and dislike these characters in equal measure. it propels me on to see if they will be the villan or the hero.

Had to get book 2 ...

The writer clearly new what they were doing. It's well thought out and planned. The characters jumps off the page. I finished this in one sitting and am now jumping to book 2.
Highly recommend!

Lots of twists and turns~

great performance by Rebecca Soler, but the story felt a bit one dimensional and I'm not convinced enough to actually read the second book. I wanted to love this book as the reviews make it sound like something right up my alley but it unfortunately just didn't hit the spot. Maybe reading the second book will help clear up some of this but again, I'm not convinced I want to dedicate the time. I enjoyed it...I guess.

I enjoyed it, but it was a bit flat

Although the story started off a bit confusing a boring by the end I was hooked especially as all the puzzle pieces started to come together.
