A lovely historical romance and mystery.
This was a lovely read and it bodes well for the rest of the series.
I've listened to many productions by Carolyn Kashner and I've enjoyed her narration each time. She really brings the characters and the time period to life through her performance.
This book has my favourite genres, historical, romance and mystery.
Although I enjoyed the romance what I liked most was the mystery. Intrigue and suspense kept me hooked and I loved the air of mystery behind a few of the characters. It kept me guessing to the end and of course it had a sweet, happy ending. This is one of my favourite books by Linda Weaver Clarke. More of this please. :-)

Okay
This book was okay. I struggled to get into it but the second half was better. I struggled because some of the language felt like modern phrases in a historical setting. The story was sweet and the characters were charming and caring.
