About this listen

***Extended and Revised Edition***

One Last Shindig—the new novella from the author of The Sound of Suffering, Nana, Crows, and Chasing the Dragon.

The world as we know it is coming to an end, but this group of geriatrics on one last shindig have no idea what’s in store. As far as they’re concerned, they’re on a quick jaunt to see a cave full of glow worms and then back to the hotel for apple pie and custard.

So, get the muscle spray ready and change into your big underpants, because you’re going to need them. Take your seat on this hilarious and terrifying coach tour into Hell.

Whenever Mark Towse is involved, I know I’m going to have a good time, either creeped out, or like this case laughing myself off!

The audiobook was amazing, narrated by Sean Walpole, capturing the essence of old people so well! I laughed so much listening to this story, whilst being gripped at the same time by the mystery surrounding the events.

As with other books by this author, the plot is not just there to entertain, but also to reflect, and in this case we get to reflect about life, personal growth and legacy through the characters’ choices in the face of the world ending!

Because of this book I’ll never think at a bread roll the same way and I’ll always simultaneously laugh and recoil at the mention of muscle spray!! If you want to know why, pick up this book, it’s a fast read/listen.

Thanks to the author for the opportunity to listen to it and this is my honest opinion.

A wild ride! Old people facing the end of the world? I'm in!

Whoa, this was one hell of a ride! The blurb for this book intrigued me and although horror is not really my thing, I was excited to give it a go. Who knew that horror with a large helping of humour is right up my street after all?! I absolutely loved the banter between the old folk, which had me chuckling countless times. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was fantastic. Loved it!
