About this listen

Life sucks.

Gabe Harris has been clued into this fact for a long time now. In his mid-twenties, life has been nothing but low paying jobs, petty power-tripping bosses, and the worst roommates mankind has to offer. Bills, debt, and misery have haunted him for his entire adult life and, to make matters worse, it feels like his dream of being a writer is dead on arrival.

One fateful night, he decides to take control of his life and make his dream a reality. Diving into the strange world of online writing soon yields results, enough that he can move into his own place, even if it's a terrible studio apartment. As he finishes moving and prepares to pursue the life of a successful writer by any means necessary, the world throws something completely unexpected his way.

Ellen, a six foot five blonde goddess and former coworker, abruptly reenters his life as her own seemingly perfect existence is collapsing. When the two begin reconnecting, things start getting heated, and Gabe quickly learns that being a successful writer isn't the only thing he wants.

An emotionally intelligent look at male centric polyamorous fantasy novels

one of the few "harem" poly & some sub/dom, swinger fantasy stories that actually seems to consider the emotional ramafications and cooperation of equal partnership how a fantasy relationship could actually work. its hard to explain without spoiling but while the story is down to earth the contest is engaging and emotionally intelligent.
Spicy and explicit scenes (which there are a fair few) are well spaced out and paced. The voice actress is excelent the only thing stopping me giving 5 stars on that is she does all voices male and female while they are varied a leaning into it abit more would have made it perfect. highly recomend this if this is your as the MC once states "particular corner of the internet"

A great listen…

A well written, well crafted story, the right length without being too rushed or drawn out, also beautifully narrated, can’t wait for book 2 !

Communication, the harem, poly, side chick story

I just binged all available audiobooks for this series so this more a series review than just this one book. If you like this book, get ready to buy the rest because it will be hard to stop.

The characters and their interactions in this story are SO GOOD. Real insecurities and problems that don't get brushed aside but actually get dealt with realistically which is so necessary since we are following an unbelievably unrealistic romance story, so having these issues really grounds it out making it feel more authentic. Feelings that get explained so emotionally intelligently that it makes me think to myself "oh... right that makes sense, why didn't i piece that together myself?" God i just loved it so much. Again the biggest homerun 10/10 win this series has to offer are all the love interests. I loved them all. They all worked so perfectly for this story.

Potential deal breakers for some, This story contains a lot of sub/dom play, done very respectfully and consenting thoughout, but if thats not your thing this story has A LOT of it, its kind of the main driving force of this series. And multiple characters, MC included, have a breeding fetish. Not my thing personally, but it didn't lessen the books at all.

Good - something feels off

I don’t know if it’s the “perfect relationship” or because it’s the ideal relationship but something about the dynamic between them is cringey - it’s completely unrealistic and the male protagonist is a complete whimp nobody is that insecure and in parts it’s really difficult to listen too.

Just my opinion

Overall I enjoyed it - the ending saved it for me personally, not sure if I’ll get the second one though.
