Summary
It has been a week since Momonga logged in to his favorite RPG one last time and stranded himself there. Now he leads his guild as the Ainz Ooal Gown overlord. Finding himself in dire need of better information, he travels disguised as an adventurer to the walled city of E-Rantel, with Narberal the battle maid at his side. The pair accept a mission to retrieve medicinal herbs, making for a forest said to be the home of a great and wise beast. But the sinister influence of a fanatical cabal approaches E-Rantel, and the armor-clad Ainz will face both a ruthless warrior and a legion of the undead!

High quality as usual but not without criticism.
Overall i'd recommend BUT Chris.... if you're reading this. Please pretty please read the names of the characters again. His name is NOT INFERIA. He ain't inferior to anybody. His name is Nfirea NFI.
Thank you. That's the only part that was so irritating. Other names cold be nitpicked a bit too, but it's fine.
Would recommend tho.

One of the better volumes.
A discordant tone between people shouting "Charm Person!", "Lightning!", and acting like its a video game on one hand; and the brutal reality of living in a fantasy setting where death lurks at every corner on the other.
One thing that I do like about Overlord are the plans and schemes. Humans plot against humans, the Guardians plot against humans, and Ainz plot against both humans and the Guardians. Possibly the best part of the story.
Likewise the infiltration of human society by Ainz and the Guardians is probably my favourite part of the story.

Ruined by awful american narration
Yet another entry into my "americans can't pronounce words" booklet. The same issues as the first book appear once again and i find it unbearable listening to all the mispronunciations and awful voices. As I said for my previous review, I have read the light novels many times and really enjoy the story so i wished to have it in audio form but it's absolutely god awful narration and i can't recommend it at all.

Good, but Too Short for Genre
Having listened to book 1 and book 2 now, I feel that these books are entertaining, but only a good value for money if they are on sale because the play time is so short relative to the sci-fi and portal fiction LitRPG genres which frequently deliver titles that average 15-25 hours long. Some go all the way up to 40-50 hours of playtime. With this in mind a mere 8-9 hours feels woefully lacking.
The stopping point for each book does come at a point where a goal is accomplished, but the goal is not so major that it feels like a satisfying conclusion of an entire novel. More like the end of a chapter. Based on what I've heard so far, it seems like these should be bundled as 2-3 installments per download to match the standards for the genre. Unfortunately I accidently bought book 4 already, so I will likely end up spending a credit on book 3, but I'm not really happy about it.
