About this listen
Owen Cullen was a dream. Not a dream come true though, because I’d never dared to dream. He was my wildest fantasy, a hallucination, a delusion. The handsome man who’d saved my life—twice. He was a real-life hero, and I was...what was I? Filth, that was what I was. The daughter of a gangster, the niece of the reigning king of Chicago’s underground. I tried my best not to fall in love with Owen. I tried not to mistake his kindness. I tried to remember the lessons of my youth: Love was a weakness. Sex was a weapon. It didn’t work. I fell in love. Then my uncle found me, and I ruined everything.
Natasha. It was a fake name. One she’d made up on the fly when my team had rescued her from a life worse than death. She had no place to go, so I took her home. It was supposed to be temporary, just until we learned who she was. But the woman proved to be stubborn and kept her secrets buried deep. She’d lived with me for months, and every day the pull of her called to me. I was living a nightmare of my own making. I didn’t trust women, especially the one sleeping in my guest bedroom. I’d fought the good fight. I’d held out for as long as I could. Then all of her secrets came out, but it was too late. I was in too deep. Natasha, the beautiful woman with no last name, was mine. But it turned out that she had a last name—Pollaski.
Everything came crashing down.
I was no stranger to the battlefield. I was used to blood, guts, and no glory. What I wasn’t accustomed to was the feeling of my heart being torn from my chest. What I was not acquainted with was desperation. Natasha was gone, and I had less than 24 hours to find her, or she’d be gone in a different way.
Welcome back to Z Corp and Special Forces—Operation Alpha. New team, new former military heroes. Like the teams that have come before, Owen, Gabe, Myles, Kevin, and Cooper are ready for action.

Oh what a ride
Another amazing listen of an amazing story.
We’ve been desperate to know more not only about Natasha, but the blue team since Maximus and the story development in Declan. Well this doesn’t disappoint.
The blue team are another amazing creation in the wonderwall that is Riley’s mind. Enough about each character is included in the book to make you eager for the subsequent stories about each blue team member (which is wonderfully expanded by another character that was quietly brought into the series in the gold team books too). All of this doesn’t however take away from the underlying love story that is Owen and Natasha.
Riley Edwards knows how to write angsty, broken, dangerous characters that even though you know there MUST be a HEA, you are still so nervous throughout the book that they won’t actually get there.
Natasha’s development as a character (and person) is terrifyingly brutal and honest and done to perfection by Janine Geanda. Her fear is so real it leaches off the pages and into your ears, as her transition from reluctant and guilt ridden Sarah to independent free thinking Natasha is done so fantastically well with so much emotion.
Owens love for her and his struggle with that is performed wonderfully by Sebastian York, who brings a maturity in his voice to a character that I didn’t know it needed till I heard it ♥️
Even though he spends a good amount of the book harping back to his divorce before Gabe kicks him in the proverbial, his actions, thoughts and conversations that pertain to Natasha are so beautifully written and narrated it makes this a truly emotional story.
However that isn’t to say there isn’t humour, the blue team are just as happy to act like little boys as the other teams and their personalities shine off the pages.
A fantastic experience and I’m looking forward to Gabe x

No “thanks” needed;) (Iykyk)
‘I was loved. So loved. I had so many choices laid out in front of me, more freedom than I’d ever had.’
No one deserves that freedom more than Nat! Owen was my first of Riley’s SEAL books & I loved it!
SebYo gruffness is perfect for Owen! Janine is brand new to me but I absolutely loved her as Nat. She was sweet, vulnerable, closed off & a total BA when needed.
Looking forward to meeting the rest of Blue Team💙
