What parents wish they had sooner

As a teacher and mom of an ADHD child, Im always on the lookout for more resources for my child/children. Parents need to be aware of what they might encounter as their child grows so they can support them to the best of their abilities. I appreciate the authors practical and positive guidance in this book. Reading this gave me assurance that it is ok and my child will be ok. I loved the sections that focus on advocacy in school its a hard road that parents need to be aware of. The second section I loved was the topic of emotional regulation. Its a constant struggle for ADHD children and is especially for pre teens and teens. Children can be less forgiving for behavior that is not " cool" . Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone.

More to Learn about ADHD

“Parenting Kids with ADHD” gives parents more information than they may have when trying to deal with their child with ADHD. Besides recognizing the behaviors and understanding the science behind ADHD, it’s important to also get some strategies to help parents cope. This book offers that. It’s very difficult to manage ADHD in school aged children because of the problems in getting these kids to focus. The author offer strategies for getting homework done, like using visuals and also ways to Forster dialogue with your child. There are many areas presented that can be helpful if you are a stressed out parent of an ADHD child.
