About this listen
A fearless warrior. An implacable traitor. The path toward a destiny only a god foresaw.
Fel'annár is a gifted immortal warrior embarking on his first patrol into the Deep Forest. Half-Silvan, half-Alpine, he battles the enemy from without, and the prejudice from within. But he learns more than just warfare when an arcane power begins to emerge, one he cannot control.
While friendships are forged, a destiny unfolds, one that is tied to a past he knows nothing about. For others, though, it is only a matter of time before the truth is revealed, and the danger becomes real.
If you love high fantasy worlds with compelling characters on a dangerous mission, you can't miss Path of a Novice, book one in the epic fantasy series The Silvan Saga.

Loved it
I absolutely loved this book. It pulled me in from the very beginning and has just left me wanting more. I found the characters fascinating, especially Fel’annar, and loved the world it was set in. The authors writing style was fantastic. I honestly can’t wait to listen to the second book.
The narrator speaking voice is very good. My only niggle was that he read Fel’annar’s voice very softly which wasn’t how I imagined him to speak. But like I said, it’s a tiny niggle for someone who was otherwise a very good narrator. To be honest, the story is so good even a bad narrator wouldn’t of stopped me from listening to it, and there’s no book yet where that’s happened. I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

I liked it a lot
Not the most eventful fantasy story so far, but I really enjoyed it. I loved the characters and the narrator did a great job bringing them to life.

Solid fantasy really well narrated
Got this free with my membership so was pleasantly surprised by how good it is. So good I bought the sequel.
This is classic fantasy with some cool ideas read by a chap who delivers like a less melodramatic Scott Brick.
Highly recommend.

Green Magic
I enjoyed this book and was surprised at how good it was. It's well written with various likable characters and tree magic. I like the mystery behind the MMC's heritage, how his personality develops into a formidable highly skilled character and how he grows into his magical powers. Good narration but it did grate on me when he constantly pronounced 'plait' wrong.
Overall a great book and a series I wish to continue with. A shame Audible removed the full free series before I could get to read them. I wish Audible could make the series free again in plus catalogue.

what a series!!
I write this on the first book as I've listened to the entire series, and what a series it was, performance was amazing and the character depth was impeccable, the story only got a 4* in my opinion, there was a lot of emotion throughout but majority was sadness with the good byes and the sad speeches, never really had the F*** yeah moment of joy and happiness as I could kinda guess what was gonna happen next typical hero never dies etc, some things were left un said at the end and I wish they was for closer, also never really had a favourite character, but saying that would 100% recommend this series specially as the first 3 are free! if you like LOTR this is up your street! out of the 73 titles in my library this is in top 10.

Finally a book worth listening
I honestly thought I’d gone through all the good books in this genre, but I was proven wrong.
