About this listen

John Bunyan was a simple maker and mender of pots and pans who received very little education. In spite of that, he penned the most successful allegory ever written.

Embark on a perilous journey with Christian, the lead character, from the City of Destruction to the luminous safe haven of the Celestial City. The journey will encourage you to "set your hope fully on the grace to be given you" amidst the obstacles of life.

Pilgrim's Plod

Would you listen to Pilgrim's Progress again? Why?

Probably not, but I am glad I have listened the once.

What does Nadia May bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Great narration.

Any additional comments?

The book was much less 'dry' than I expected, and emphasised the joyful gift of God's love. I loved the characterisations and the funny names for the stereotypes we still encounter in society today.

The story within a story

Where does Pilgrim's Progress rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks high. its very good. It tells the story of dream of a man who travels along a road and tells his progress and errors of his journey.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pilgrim's Progress?

That hes not all good within, he has errors too along his journey he meets people who try to make him sway from his true path. Like Apollyon, who represents satan trying to sway the travellers with the words of dispare attacks with all he has.

Which character – as performed by Nadia May – was your favourite?

Christian who is the main character, he is the one who puts the most into the story and takes you along his journey with him the whole way from the city of destruction to the celestial city

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story made me think, and think of how it is in real life as a christian, how hard the journey can be, but how easy it is to return to the right path. In that sence it made me sway with the emotions christian did on his journey
