Benjamin Delmas est psychiatre dans une unité médico-légale à Paris. Un soir, un officier de police frappe à sa porte et lui apprend que son frère Lucas, qu'il ne voyait plus depuis de nombreuses années, a été retrouvé mort à Bangkok, probablement noyé dans l'un des nombreux canaux de la ville.
