About this listen
Bruce Gordon was an ex-fighter, ex-gambler, ex-cop, ex-reporter, and now he was an ex-patriot of Earth. Security shipped him to Mars with a knife, 100 credits, and a yellow card that meant no return.
A science-fiction novel that would appeal to Mickey Spillane fans, Police Your Planet features lots of violence, beatings, and blood. But this isn't just a crime novel put into space; this is a hard SF novel, and the terraforming of Mars is central to the story.
Public Domain (P)2010 Audible, Inc.Editor reviews
This satisfying pulp blend of sci-fi and noir finds its hardboiled hero banished from the Earth for publishing some top-secret government files. For his crime Bruce Gordon is given a one-way ticket to Mars - and it's no picnic. Amongst all of Earth's undesirables, junkies, and crooks Gordon’s about to find his ticket back to his home planet might be harder to come by than he thought, even after getting a job with the crooked Martian police force. Peter Ganim performs the - often-deplorable - Martian cast of characters with gusto and keeps the bloody, gritty, outer-space action churning along in this fun tale of corruption on a wild frontier.
But what it does have is a seemingly simple story line which draws you in and develops with each plot turn and twist into a classic piece of science fiction audio that keeps you engaged and more engrossed until the very end. This book stands out from the rest of the current sci fi and can be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys good fictional writing. This is a book to be read for enjoyment and to escape into and forget temporarily the stresses and worries of every day life. It is a page turner and thankfully it is of a duration to be comfortably listened to from start to finish in one session and the ending is satisfying and complete with all plot twists and turns resolved.
This is the perfect book to read and unwind with on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon.
A classically styled sci fi adventure

Not high literature by any means but for a fun tale of it's time, well worth a read. Police Your Planet comes as a free download with Audible Plus. Thank you

The story is awful without any real plot and just meanders from one ridiculous scene to the next.
His characters lack any depth or interest and all rotate completely around the central character who has a moral compass that swings back and forth so drastically he could be bipolar .
The book must have been written before emancipation or the author is a hopeless bachelor because his ideas of a women's place is from about 1920.
And to conclude this might as well be a book about the five boroughs in 1880s New York with the storey placed on a fictional Mars that hasn't existed since HG Wells time's.
Without doubt the worst sci fi on audible

Shallow secondary characters
Unoriginal story line of the corrupt mayor angling to be voted back in.
I have no idea why this is set on Mars or even why it is categorised as Sci-Fi
Unlikeable characters with no honour
