Right before the eruption in Pompeii Bigwood ironic we celebrating in pain all meds to the mountain with the festival. That didn’t stop it from a rough thing and what a horrible tragedy it was. People lost our lives and if they live they lost their homes and possibly loved ones. I love the little nuances of captivating history put in their books to make any subject personal and not like an academic lesson and Pompeii is definitely a great example of that. I loved this audio book and the narrator and I highly recommend it. Please forgive the grammatical and punctuation errors in this review I dictated and it is impossible to fix mistakes when reviewing on the website. All opinions are my own though.

A horrible day in Pompeii!

Absolutely loved this audiobook. I’ve listened to it 3 times already and will revisit it time and time again. It is a fascinating account of the daily lives of the people and covers everything from the food they ate right through to how they made their living. It describes how the lavish life of life rich lived right through to the lowly life of the slave. The actual fateful eruptions is described hour by hour leaving the listener with a dramatic picture of the terror and helplessness of the people. I highly recommend this audiobook.
