Summary
I’ve been living under storm clouds since my honorable discharge, but Julian’s the sun.
I’ve tried everything to deal with my PTSD from yoga to sunning my butthole, but nothing seemed to help.
So when my brother suggests a service dog, I figure I don’t have anything to lose. The last thing I expect is for the dog to come with a cheerful, quirky trainer I can’t get out of my head....
I’m too screwed up for love, but a chance to explore a side of myself I didn’t realize existed until recently is too good to pass up.
But the more I get to know Julian, the more I start to think I might not be beyond saving after all....
Ranger is a low-angst stand-alone MM romance featuring a slightly grumpy veteran, a sunshiney animal trainer, an ornery goat, a deaf donkey, and some seriously hot encounters, resulting in a very happy ending. While Ranger was a side character in Heart (Ballsy Boys 3), his book is a stand-alone and can be listened to on its own.

beautiful and real
wow what a book.
I've read/listened to a few of K.M. Neuhold stand alone books and this is now one of my favourites.
Well done John Solo for the narration, the characters were clear and damn you made Ranger sound like Keanu Reeves which is never a bad thing (#swoon!)
The story was hard hitting and truthful of how some struggle with PTSD. it felt real and I loved that a service dog was brought in. the moment he first takes the dog out and the shop clerk says his faking was also great as this is so true of invisible illness and disability. so sad that this is the truth of the world we live in.
Then you bring in Julian a true ray of sunshine and he immediately makes you smile, the menagerie of animals helped too.
I liked that things weren't overly dragged out or made difficult because sometimes life can go well. it's a positive story in the end and I hope for more reads like this.

incredible!
This story is amazing, I have it on paperback and just craved to listen to it and it's totally worth it.
Narrator is perfect for the book! They way they were so expressive and kept the flow going with the pauses and hesitations in the right places to feel the depth of the emotion and importance of the moment.
Loved it looking forward to listening to it again soon.

Loved it
It always brilliant when a favourite book comes to audio. I was really looking forward to this and boy I was most certainly not let down.
Ranger and Julian totally deserved their happily ever after and add in a few dogs and other animals, well I'm in love.
