really enjoyed this. i put it on while cleaning the house and it was delightful. i already know a little spanish so this wasnt too hard of an adjustment. it wasnt painful either. Have i learnt how to fully speak italian... probably not but i have at my hands new words and meanings to utilize when faced with it. i will be listening to this again after i listen to volume 2. repetition is key in learning languages. :)

I am hooked. I downloaded volume 1 and 2 of Italian, French & Spanish in order to brush up languages I had previously learned to varying degrees. I am already wondering what language to attack next! I travel a lot with work and have the audiobooks on as I'm driving around and am already memorising words and phrases that I'd either forgotten or never knew. I don't feel that I need a book, although I have downloaded the accompanying pdf files for reference. Almost everything I can pick up straight from the recording - just as language is acquired naturally by children - listening and repeating.

I have always struggled with remembering words when trying to learn a language. But within half an hour of listening I felt confident to be able to ask for a cup of tea, a milky coffee and something to eat (even my Italian cousin could understand me!) I so hate going abroad and not being able to ask for basic things. I'm not planning to take exams or even write in Italian but if like me you are just wanting basic conversation, then i would recommend this book. I love the music too!

What did you like best about Rapid Italian? What did you like least?

I have used this hypnosis learning before with Paul Mckenna it works well but was way too short for the price. At the cost of a full credit it should be the full programme of 3 downloads.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The voices and content were good just too short. Could have done with a few more classic tourist phrases

If the series was available for say £25 it would be worth it. 1 section for the equivalent of say 1 Credit £25 was very poor value compared to a 16 hour book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Tried this as a supplement to another course as have had similar experience with learning via song.All I can say is this would be far more effective if the speakers spoke in time with the music as it would develop a rythem. However its more like 2 people speaking over a backing track so the speaking and beat of the music keep clashing and get out of sync, at which point ithe music just becomes a distraction and annoying.Given 3stars as some further info compared to the other lesson I use

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Speak in time with the music makes it more like a song and aids the ear worm concept. Otherwise its just people talking over a backing track.

Tried first of all to learn with another book but struggled. Tried this and it was great. (I bought all 3 books.) It gave me enough Italian to get me happily through my holiday, I even got complimented on my Italian. I just wish they did more books as I would really like to learn more. Don't be put off, it appears weird at first but it works.
