Summary
Reese White has spent her whole life trying so hard to be perfect that when she looks in the mirror, she doesn't know the person staring back at her. Sure, she's always gotten high grades and excelled academically, but she's never put much time into herself. Now, as she heads off to college, Reese realizes she's remained so hidden inside a book that she's invisible to everyone, including herself.
Kellin Lake has always seen Reese, his little sister's best friend, the beautiful girl hidden behind baggy clothes and good grades - but he's hiding, too - even from her. Tattoos, lip piercing, and being a lead singer in a metal band, he's a rebel without a cause. But that's just to the people at school. At home, he covers it all up, and he's the boy with the angel's voice and a 4.0 only his parents know about.
When Reese flips the switch and takes control of her looks, they make an arrangement - pretend to be in a relationship to elevate Reese's social status. It's simple. Kellin helps his sister's best friend, and Reese isn't invisible anymore. No one falls in love. No one gets hurt. But what Reese doesn't realize is Kellin is already in love with her.
And now things get a hell of a lot more complicated.
Fans of Kasie West, Cookie O'Gorman, and Monica Murphy will fall in love with this coming-of-age romance series that tackles love, friendship, and moving on from painful pasts. Each novel stands alone with characters you're sure to love.

Interesting story with solid narration
I liked this story. it's a slightly different approach on the genre and I enjoyed it. It ended rather abruptly which shocked me slightly as I wasn't expecting it to end where it did. I would like to know what happens next.
Kay Anderson does a great job with the narration. She allowed me to forget the narration and just enjoy the story.

Excellent
This was my first Cassandra Guovanni and I would really like to listen to more it was awesome!
The narration was excellent too, the narrator really gave everyone their own voice. Most important of all, the narrators voice was age appropriate! Well done!

Wonderfully Narrated
Another throughly enjoyable story written by Cassandra Giovanni and wonderfully narrated by Kaye Anderson.
Rebel Cause is book 3 in the Boys of Fallout series although this one does have a slightly different setting as with this one there is no band on tour, 'Beneath' are more of a college band to begin with.
Reese is in love with her best friends brother Kellen.
He's in the rock band, Beneath. When Reese and Lindy, Kellen's sister move in with him whilst attending college he and Reese soon find themselves in a pretend relationship but is that what it really is or could it be so much more?
Although this is book 3 in the series each book can be read as a complete standalone.

I loved this!!
Reese and Kellen! They belong together. They’ve loved each other for a long time! She’s his sisters best friend.
She has hidden herself behind baggy clothes and glasses for a long time. He hides his tattoos and piercings because he’s afraid his family will disown him. She shows herself because she wants him to see the real her. He is forced into showing himself because she doesn’t want to him to hide any longer.
Will they survive her forcefully shoving him into showing himself to his parents? Will his band get their chance? What happens when he takes an internship at a record company?
This is an awesome story! Cassandra Giovanni really hit it with this one! Kaye Anderson goes really well with these characters!!!

Such a great book
I really enjoyed this book. It shows more than just the frontman of a band. Very enjoyable storyline with great characters that are down to earth and likeable. Kaye gives a fantastic performance.

Fake relationship
I love the name Kellin. This series is really good. The three books stand alone and are so much fun to listen to. The narration and the writing blended well together. I think book 3 was my favorite.

Rebel Cause
First, I should tell you that this book can be read as a stand-alone. I have listened to the first in the series but missed the second one somehow. Now onto the book! I always loved reading the friends to lovers types books and am happy to say that this one fits the bill perfectly. Watching these two “pretend” to be together while secretly loving each other was fun to watch. The only thing that bums me a bit is I felt it ended to quickly. I really need to know what happens next with them.

Another great listen
The third in a series of stand-alone a which I like. They do make references to the first two books but I didn’t think it was enough that you couldn’t listens without having read the first two. Great book, I love the fake relationship to real aspect.

🎧 Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession 🎧
The third book in The Boys of Fallout series, coming of Age story,
In my opinion is a reminder that honesty is the best policy, your not always judged by your outer shell or your particular interests, go with your own life not what you think someone else wants you to do.
Enjoyed the narration by Kaye Anderson
