Summary
In 1941, when she was turned into an armed merchant cruiser, the SS Benbecula was already old. Yet even she was needed to protect the vital Atlantic sea lanes. Wonderful
Story about WWII convoys. Portrays all the atmosphere of the stories of my father who served in the Atlantic convoys. The final

So Bloody Brilliant!
By far the most compelling writing and narration I have experienced in a lifetime of reading.

I really enjoyed the audible version of the book, David Rintoul makes you think you are there , bring life to the characters like they are flesh and blood . Enjoyed each minute of the audible book.

A good yarn
I like Douglas Freeman novels I have in fact read a lot of the books many years ago. I thought I would listen to them this time . David Rintoul narration is excellent and really makes the novel come alive . It's a good story following Douglas Freeman usual formula with a love interest thrown in. good action and A some tense moments make this a good novel of men at war in the vastness of the world's oceans. if you like naval fiction this is a novel for you.
